This is the case for the Association de l’exploration miniere du Quebec (AEMQ), formerly known as the As - sociation des prospecteurs du Quebec, which is situated in Rouyn-Noranda. Since the failed attempt by the Liberal provincial government to review the Mines Act, the prospectors’ or ga - nization has made sustained representations to have Quebec mining regulations updated. After the election of the PQ government in September 2012, the AEMQ condemned, on several occasions, the atmosphere of uncertainty which slows down mining exploration investment in Quebec. Each fall, two events allow the AEMQ to take advantage of public exposure.
