Page 42 By Frank Giorno There s more gold west of T immins GFG Resources a Saskatoon based mineral exploration com pany has found evidence of high grade gold at its Pen Gold Project 40 km west of T immins GFG Resources was formed two years ago with three senior man agers having worked together at Claude Resources and that in cludes Brian Skanderbeg Presi dent and CEO The company is focusing its gold exploration activities in Ontario and W yoming The company s Ontario ventures are located in the T immins area The Pen Gold Project is located 50 kilometres southwest of the prolifc gold district and town of T immins Ontario The property represents a land package of approximately 475 square kilometres and is situated between Goldcorp s Borden Gold project and T ahoe Resources W est T immins Mine The property consists of a 40ki lometerlong section of Archean greenstone that contains the in terpreted western extension of the PorcupineDestor Fault Zone within the same geological setting that hosts most of the gold deposits found in the T immins Gold Camp The Dore Gold Project is located 40 kilometres east of Goldcorp s Borden gold project and 30 kilome tres northwest of IAMGOLD s Cote Lake gold project in Ontario The Dore Gold Project land package is approximately 205 square kilo metres and covers a 12kilometre long section of Archean greenstone within the Swayze Greenstone Belt During the fourth quarter of 2018 There s Gold W est of T immins GFG Resources Discovers High Grade Gold at Pen Gold the company completed 19 holes 4744 metres test ing at the Pen Gold property at the Sewell Deerfoot Crawford HGM and NibY ellow knife targets It s exciting when you can step out as a geologist generate a con cept put all the work together get permits and then execute it on the ground and make a relevant dis covery said Brian Skanderbeg The results from the frst six drill holes returned high grades of gold at the Pen 18015 at the Sewell system to confrm historic drill re sults Drill results returned a fnding of 3377 gt Gold over 105 metres This result validated the historic drilling downdip that returned 763 gt Au over 357 m including 3346 gt Au over 061 m But that s not all At the Deerfoot site the Crawford target in hole PEN 18 016 returned a grading 2126 gt Au over 17 m The other highgrade gold was detected at the HGM tar get where 920 gt Au over 09 m in hole PEN 18013 which is located 400 m east of the Crawford target also at the Deerfoot location Lowergrade gold was detected at the NibY ellowknife target PEN 18 017 089 gt Au over 70 m The drill results successfully intercept ed multiple zones of mineralization with visible gold present W e are very pleased with our dis covery at Crawford and the high success rate of intercepting high grade gold mineralization in the inaugural drill program at the Pen Gold Project said Skanderbeg In 2018 the company also com pleted a Phase 1 and Phase 2 re gional till sampling program the frst of its kind on the property The till sampling consisted of 108 till sam ples for a total of 467 till samples collected in 2018 The phase 1 re sults that returned up to 2470 ppb gold and 142 gold grains Phase 2 results are pending and expected to be received and announced in Q1 2019 Results were still pend ing as of this writing GFG Resources 2019 drilling pro gram will further defne the amount and grade of gold on their Pen Gold Property and the company plans to drill about 8000 metres in two phases 2019 will be a very exciting and a catalystrich year as we execute aggressive drill programs at both the Pen Gold Project and the Rat tlesnake Hills Gold Project each having the potential to yield gold discoveries Skanderbeg added The Phase 1 drill program GFG Re sources plans to test three targets in the 20 sq km Jehann region The testing will consist of 4000 metres in 1315 holes ranging in length from 150 to 300 metres with the objective to test six highly prospec tive targets in the Reeves Jehann Deerfoot and Slate Rock regions on the Pen Gold property The six drill targets have never been drilled before The drilling was expected to Contd on pg 42
