In 201 1, Lake Shore produced 83,585 ounces of gold from 671,467 tonnes ore for a realized grade of 4.03 g/t gold. Included in this production is 59,003 ounces gold recovered from 492,790 tonnes ore from the T immins Mine at a grade of 3.72 g/t gold. An additional 24,585 ounces of gold was recovered from 178 677 tonnes processed from the Bell Creek Mine complex at a grade of 4.28 g/t gold. Gold milling operations were all done at the Bell Creek Mine Complex. The mill operated at a rate of 1,840 dry tonnes per day and achieved a gold recovery rate of 95.98 Ore reserves at the T immins Mine in - clude 5,826,000 tonnes at a grade of 5.99 g/t gold and probable reserves of 4,272,000 tonnes at 5.76 g/t gold. During the year , the compa ny ex - tended its knowledge of the mine geology and expanded its resources. Lake Shore Gold has a workforce of 486 employees as of Jan.31, 201 1. The advanced projects saw work on four belonging to Lake Shore and one owned by T relawne y Min - ing and Exploration Inc. in Chester T ownship. On June 21, 2012 T relawney was ac - quired for $585.3 million by mid-tier gold producer IAMGOLD Corpora - tion. In 201 1, T relawney continued with a major explorat ion diamond- drilling campaign on its Cote Lake zone. Stephen Letwin, president and CEO of IAMGOLD, said in June that “with this transaction complete we can now capitalize on the thousands of hours we spent over the last year evaluating this project and can lever - age our developmental and opera - tional expertise to realize the share - holder return potential identifed by our analysis. The Cote Lake Project, half way be - tween T immins and Sudbury , adds immediately to our mineral resourc - es, strengthens our fve-year pro - duction growth forecast and has a construction timetable that dovetails into our capita l plans for expanding our existing operations.” Lake Shore has high hopes of see - ing its advanced projects becom - ing mines, especially its Bell Creek Complex. The other projects are Marlhill, V ogel and Schumacher and Thunder Creek. The area of Bell Creek Mine, with the adjacent properties of Marlhill, V ogel and Schumacher , is located in the south part of Hoyle T ownship. Lake Shore is presently conducting an advanced exploration program at the Bell Creek Mine Complex, including excavation of an inclined portal to the neighbouring Marlhill, Schumacher and V ogel properties to the east.
