Page 1 12 “The Porcupine Camp” A New Golden Era Page 1 10 By Gregory Reynolds Mexivada Mining Corp has acquired two mining properties in the T im - mins-Matheson area and comm enced a drill program on one of them. The properties are close to four of the historic mines of the area, the Ross at Holtyre and the Delnite, Aunor and Buf falo Ankerite Gold Mines in T immins. Mexivada is a diversifed Canadian mineral exploration compa ny fo - cused on ident ifying, acquiri ng, ad - vancing, drilling, and joint venturing high-grade Gold-Silver , T ellurium, and Rare Metal exploration projects in Nevada, Canada, and Mexico. Mexivada is managed by experi - enced and successful board members and advisors Mexivada announced on Sept. 6 that it has begun its program of core drill - ing on the Roger property , near the 147 and Gibson zones of gold min - eralization owned by Brigus Gold at Matheson. Mexivada is conducting approxi - mately 2,000 metres of core drilling at Roger , testing: 1) Locally high-grade gold tar gets preliminarily defned in past drill - ing by Hollinger Consolidated Mines and Chevron, 2) tar gets defned by induce d po - larization (IP) char geability anom - alies, as interpreted by Mexivada from Chevron IP work, and 3) a new Mexivada concept that northerly-trending post-mineral diabase dikes on the property were intruded into existing, northerly- trending 147-age (Brigus Gold’ s Grey Fox property) that were min - eralized with gold. This concept appears to have been validated in part by Chevron drill hole 88-233 on the Roger property , which intersected 1.6 metres of rock on the western side of a dia - base dike, which zone assayed 4.6 grams per tonne gold. Mexivada will be testing the eastern perimeter of the Roger property for 147-style gold zones; in and adjacent to the faulted diabase dike swarm that is present on the Roger property . The Roger property is located 400 metres southwest and 750 metres south of Brigus Gold’ s 147 and Gibson gold zones, respectively . The Roger property also is ad - joined on the east side by property controlled by St. Andrew Gold - felds Ltd. Mexivada has the option to earn up to 60 working interest in the Roger property from Romios Gold Resources Inc. The Golden Porcupine Property is located 0.7 km-, 2.5 km-, and 3.9 km west-southwest of the historic, past producing Delnite, Aunor and Buf falo Ankerite Gold Mines, re - spectively , inside the City of T im - mins. Collectively these three mine s pro - duced over 4.4 million ounces of gold. The southern boundary of the main “break” of the ENE-trending camp-wide ore host Porcupine- Destor Fault Zone (PDFZ) passes through the northern part of the Golden Porcupine property , east of the Naybob Mine gold deposit. The property also has strong, north - erly trending, vein quartz-bearing faults that both pre-date and later crosscut the PDFZ-generation faults. Some historic drilling was con - ducted near the PDFZ in the north - ern part of the property , and in the central part of the property by R y - pan Gold Mines by 1947, which re - portedly discovered “commercial values” of gold in their fnal two drill holes, 15-16. Mexivada found one of their drill collars and did stripping, and drilled 3 holes in this the area in 201 1.
