Page 15 At least that s how PGM feels about its Borden Gold project near Chap leau Ontario located 180 km west of the Dome Mill The project is progressing very well as it advances through a furry of ac tivities on site and within the commu nity One special milestone in Borden s story will be to fnalize Collaboration Agreements with four local First Nation communities in the Chapleau and W awa area Through open hon est communica tions the agreements will outline provisions for employ ment and training business oppor tunities and environmental protec tions that combine the use of modern technology as well as the frst electric mine for the project These negotia tions also mark the frst time three of the four First Nation commun ities are involved with a mining project Negotiations are being held between GoldcorpPorcupine Gold Mines and the W abun T ribal Council which rep resents Brunswick House First Na tion Chapleau Ojibway First Nation Borden Gold and the Chapleau Cree First Nation Michipicoten First Nation near W awa Ontario is the fourth community ne gotiating with Borden These agree ments are expected to be fnalized by the end of the year PGM will also soon be starting a bulk sample extraction of up to 30000 tonnes at the Borden site with the frst sample expected to come out of the mine by the end of the summer A bulk sample s purpose is to collect various sets of data to determine how much gold is contained within a spe cifc sample from a specifc location how many tonnes of ore is expected to be mined plus a variety of other tests that will gauge whether metallur gy models and recovery models for the project will work or not A bulk sam ple also helps determine the profle of the ore to be mined and if any modif cations to the milling process will be required W e already know that the ore from Borden is coarser and will require more grinding than the ore we currently process from our operations in Porcupine This will trigger other activity in preparation for processing once the mine is in full operations commented Marc Lauzier Borden s ramp currently runs nearly 1000 metres in vertical lengt h and is nearing the site of the frst sample to be extracted The mine s infrastruc ture was built over the course of last year including the maintenance shop ofces the pads for ore and waste ore stockpiling the ramp and portal ven tilation system and water ponds The focus in 2018 continues to be on ad vancing the bulk sample and also on exploration at and around the Borden site PGM will spend over 7M in ex ploration there this year For years mining companies have said there was nothing worth mining to the west of the traditional Porcu pine Camp refects Marc Lauzier But we believe there is more gold in that area W eve acquired an impres sive land package that is lar gely un explored that stretches from Ivanhoe Lake all the way down to Chapleau and were beginning to look for more minable zones All clear on the western fr ont The new W estern Fr ontier Page 13
