hile per c eptions of South A frica ha v e not det erior a t ed it is disappointing tha t the y ha v e r emained s tagnant T he Miner als C ouncil has pr e viously said tha t a ne w phase of gr o wth in mining in v es tment will r equir e South A frica among other things t o ent er the t op quartile of a ttr activ e in v es tment jurisdictions in measur es such as these T his r emains the indus try s aspir a tion which w e hope go v ernment shar es It sho w s wha t a long journe y w e s till f ac e T her e is also an ur gent need t o r e ignit e a gr eenfelds e xplor a tion boom in South A frica T o this end the Miner als C ouncil has es tablished an Explor a tion L eadership F orum and a dr aft ne w s tr a t egy will be de v eloped in 20 20 In c onclusion I w ould lik e t o e xpr es s
