8 2012 Corporate Social Responsibility Report In addition to our GlobalMedic fundraising campaign OCW A employees contributed gener ously to several other charities in 2012 The sixth annual South Peel Gary Booth Memorial Golf T our nament held at BraeBen Golf Course was a huge success Employees raised 15300 towar ds the pur chase of defbrillators for the T rillium Health Centr e s Hazel McCallion Centr e for Heart Health The T rillium Health Centr e is committed to investing in extraor dinary health innovation that is transforming the health car e experience for r esidents of Mississauga W est T or onto and surr ounding r egions T rillium Health Centr e 15300 Each year OCW A supports the Federated Health Charities which fund 16 health charities acr oss Ontario This year OCW A employees gener ously donated 16440 thr ough various events to support the important work these charities undertake Ontario Public Service Federated Health Charities 16440 A team of OCW A and Region of Peel employees participated in the fve kilometr e CIBC Run for the Cur e in T or onto and raised 4000 to support br east cancer r esear ch education and awar eness pr ograms CIBC Run for the Cur e 4000 Movember is an annual monthlong fundraising event in which men gr ow moustaches during the month of November to pr omote awar eness and raise money for pr ostate cancer and male mental health initiatives This year a team of 17 OCW A employees supported Movember by gr owing moustaches and raising 3935 Movember 3935 For the second year in a r ow OCW A operator Dan Y ake and W ellington North township employee Barry T odd organized the Mount For est Municipal Hockey T our nament which raised 5000 to help local elementary schools fund their br eakfast pr ograms Each school was pr esented with a fve hundr ed dollar cheque and the r emainder of the funds wer e donated to community gr oups such as Mothers Against Drunk Driving MADD Canada W arm W inter W ishes pr ogram the Food Bank and local sports teams and camps Mount For est Municipal Hockey T our nament 5000
