After W atson Jack Co. and its F .H. Hopkins subsidiary were acquired by B.J. Coghlin Co. Ltd. in 1954, the operations of the two newly acquired businesses were merged to form a single subsidiary . This subsidiary was titled W atson Jack Hopkins Ltd. until 1959 when it was renamed W ajax Equipment Ltd. Coghlin augmented its mobile equipment operations in 1956 when it acquired Canadian Lift T ruck Co. By 1962, B.J. Coghlin Co. Ltd. had become a holding company with the mobile equipment sector its primary focus. The spring manufacturing assets had been sold and the Canadian Lift T ruck Co. merged with W ajax Equipment Ltd.
