Ontario Clean W ater Agency 2012 Annual Report 35 b Pension Plan The Agency s fulltime employees participate in the Public Service Pension Fund PSPF and the Ontario Public Service Employees Union Pension Fund OPSEUPF which ar e defned beneft pension plans for employees of the Pr ovince and many pr ovincial agencies The Pr ovince of Ontario which is the sole sponsor of the PSPF and a joint sponsor of the OPSEU PF determines the Agency s annual payments of the funds As the sponsors ar e r esponsible for ensuring that the pension funds ar e fnancially viable any surpluses or unfunded liabilities arising fr om statutory actuarial funding valuations ar e not assets or obligations of the agency The Agency s annual payments of 40 million 2011 35 million ar e included in salaries and benefts in the Statement of Operations and Changes in Net Assets c Other As a r esult of the r elationship of the Agency with the Pr ovince the following r elated party transactions exist i The Agency r eceived r evenue of 25 million 2011 26 million fr om the Ontario Infrastructur e and Lands corporation for water and wastewater tr eatment services OCW A has pr ovided The services wer e pr ovided at competitive rates similar to those of other OCW A clients ii The Agency r eceived r evenue of 28 million 2011 27 million fr om the Ministry of the Envir onment for water and wastewater tr eatment services OCW A has pr ovided The services wer e pr ovided at competitive rates similar to those of other OCW A clients In addition the Agency r eceived 03 million 2011 03 million for the Emergency Pr epar edness Funding iii The Agency r eceived r evenue of 05 million 2011 06 million fr om the Ministry of the Norther n Development and Mines for water and wastewater tr eatment services OCW A has pr ovided The services wer e pr ovided at competitive rates similar to those of other OCW A clients iv The Agency has a 120 million loan r eceivable with Ontario Infrastructur e and Land Corporation as described in note 3 c v The Agency r elies on the Pr ovince to pr ocess its payr oll and administer its benefts and to obtain some inter nal audit and legal services The Pr ovince absorbs some of these administrative costs vi The Agency has a 14 million 2011 10 million accounts payable to the Ministry of the Envir onment for r ent pr oceeds it collects for a pr operty net of r ealty taxes paid managed on behalf of the Ministry
