Largest Mine Expo in Northern Canada! T immins, Ontario “City with the Heart of Gold” is the host city for Northern Canada’ s lar gest Mine Expo and Con - ference slated for May 29th and 30th, 2013. Glenn Dredhart, president of Canadian T rade-Ex and Show Manager of ‘The Big Event’ Northern Mines and Exploration Expo says: “W e call it the ‘Big Event’ because it keeps getting big - ger every year even when we seem to have no more space.” Dredhart adds: “In fact we are recognized around Canada as the Canadian Gold Mining Expo not to miss!” Over 450 booths this year encompassing 3 pavilions hosting 100 booths each. An audience of 8,000 or more are drawn by Canada’ s lar gest displays of giant open pit and under ground mining and construction equipment that totally dwarf our 3 indoor pavilions. W e have manufacturers and equipment suppliers from across Canada and the USA showing the most modern time- saving and effcient techniques and equipment in mining found anywhere in the world! In fact a number of manu - facturers will be launching for the frst time in the world, their new under ground mining equipment lines at our ‘Big Event’! Our success is due in part to the wonderful co-operation of the mining and exploration community in our region who help sponsor many of our community outreach programs, also manning their own kiosks on the foor of the Expo. Through their participation we have developed our Mining Career and Education Fair inviting the public to seek out information about careers in the mining industry , even dropping of f resumes at their booths. Over 40 companies alone participate in this fair of fering heavy equipment training, college and university courses and job placement services. W e also appreciate the wonderful support from the City of T immins staf f and particularly the Mayor ’ s offce as well as the kind co-operation of the T immins Chamber of Commerce. W e welcome once again the Porcupine Prospectors and Developers Association who sponsor T immins Mining W eek with information kiosks at the T immins Square and with us at the mine expo also of fering a prospecting course and geological bus tour at The Big Event. W e would like to thank the Porcupine Mining Memorial Association for hosting our annual favorite, Gala Dinner and Info Night featuring four of the top mine managers and executives in our region.
