Page 52 Contd on pg 53 By Kevin V incent Shareholders at Agnico Eagle can look forward to another year of posi tive news and growth The company announced in late 2018 that it ex pects output in 2019 to top 17 mil lion ounces up from the company s projection of 16 million ounces for 2018 Final numbers for 2018 were unavailable at press time On the back of another strong op erational quarter 2018 Q3 we have once again increased our 2018 pro duction guidance W e now expect to produce approximately 160 million ounces up from our previous fore cast of 158 million ounces that was announced last quarter T otal cash costs and AISC are expected to be at or slightly below the midpoi nt of our guidance range said Sean Boyd Ag nico Eagle s Chief Executive Ofcer in late October Our Nunavut development projects are progressing well Drilling contin ues to generate positive exploration results from the Amaruq under ground deposits and we see potenti al for a slightly earlier startup at Meliadine As a result we now expect our 2019 gold production to exceed 170 mil lion ounces which was the midpoint of the previous 2019 guidanc e add ed Boyd Agnico Eagle is currently Quebec s lar gest gold producer with a 100 in terest in the LaRonde Goldex Lapa and LaRonde Zone 5 mines and a 50 interest in the Canadian Malartic mine The mines are located within 50 kilometres of each other which provides operating syner gies and al lows for the sharing of technical ex pertise In the meantime the company is continuing an aggressive exploration program in the Kirkland Lake region The 2018 drilling program focused on the Upper Beaver and Upper Canada tar gets The Kirkland Lake project covers approximately 27312 hect ares and mineral reserves and min eral resources have been outlined on several properties The properties have been owned 100 by Agnico Eagle since March 28 2018 when the Company completed the acquisi tion of Y amana s indirect 50 interest in the Canadian exploration assets of Canadian Malartic Corporation that it did not previously own Deposits in the Kirkland Lake project include Upper Beaver Upper Canada Anoki and McBean and Amalgamated Kirk land An initial 56 million exploration program is underway at Kirkland Lake and drilling commenced in July There are currently two rigs work ing on extending the Upper Beaver deposit at depth and one rig testing for satellite tar gets around the Upper Canada deposit In the third quarter of 2018 1 1754 metres of drilling 22 holes was completed In addition the Company is com pleting a techn ical review of histori cal exploration data for the Upper Beaver and Upper Canada deposits and updating the geological models Baseline studies continue at Upper Beaver as well as detailed engineer ing work and consulting The Com pany is evaluating potential syner gies between the Upper Beaver and Upper Canada projects and its other Abitibi operations Agnico Eagle continuing to explor e NW Quebec and NE Ontario synergies Agnico Eagle s Flagship LaRonde Mine located in the Abitibi region of northwestern Quebec Agnico Eagle s Goldex V al dOr mine
