These instructions ar e general guidelines. Mine tests must be conducted with bolts to determine actual “mix” and “hold” times. • Bolts should be installed as soon as possible in newly-exposed r oof. Roof that has shifted or sagged of fers least chance for successful support. • Do not use ruptur ed or br oken cartridges. • Refer to M.S.D. sheets and Pr oduct Bulletin for additional technical and safety data. Safe Handling Pr ecautions Caution : Do not open or punctur e cartridge. Physical contact with liquid contained in cartridge may cause mild irritation. Safety glasses or eye shield should always be used when r oof bolting is done. In case of eye contact, immediately f ush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Call a physician. In case of skin contact, f ush skin with water . Pr olonged contact with skin may cause mild irritation. Irritation should subside when material is r emoved. For complete safety information, r efer to the Material Safety Data Sheets. Copies will be fur nished upon r equest. Cartridges ar e f lled with inert f llers, water , polyester r esin and activator (active ingr edients include low levels of styr ene and modif ed benzoyl per oxide). F ASLOC ® cartridges ar e for industrial use only and ar e intended for use in conjunction with bolts. The r elationship between hole dimensions, bolt size and the size and number of cartridges is critical to good performance. Y our DSI r epr esentative will be glad to assist in determining the pr oper combinations for specif c applications. F ASLOC ® Resin Cartridges continued continued 2 Push the bolt into the hole to a point just below the r oof line. Slow r otation of the bolt during insertion is optional. 1 Insert necessary F ASLOC ® cartridges into the hole. 4a Fully Gr outed Bolts Push the bolt upwar d with the maximum thrust available fr om the machine and hold until F ASLOC ® har dens. Do not r otate after Step 3. Damage to partially gelled r esin may r esult. 3 Rotate the bolt as indicated above. 4c Resin Point Anchor Bolts When F ASLOC ® is used to supplement mechanical shell anchors, spin-to-lock. 4b T ension Rebar Combination Bolts Hold the bolt until the r esin has har dened. This period of str ength development will vary depending on gel time, pr oduct temp. and mine conditions.
