S e c t i o n 9 - P a g e 1 May 2013 Description Gr ound Contr ol Pourable Resin Gr out is a 2 com- ponent, fr ee owing polyester anchor . Each kit consists of a liquid r esin supplied in a mixing pail, and a cup of liquid har dener . The Gr ound Contr ol Pourable Resin Gr out is outstanding for gr outing dowels and anchor bolts concr ete, r ock and masonry . Once cur ed, the pr oduct forms an ef fective corr osion barrier fr om a pH of 2 thr ough to a pH of11. W orking compr essive str ength is obtained atsix times the indicated pot life. Specications W orking Compr essive Str ength: 65 MPa, (9,500 P .S.I.) Ultimate Compr essive Str ength: 83 MPa, (12,000 P .S.I) Example: 30 cm, (12) of gr outed #7 r ebar in a 3.0 cm, (1" ) hole in 4000 P .S.I. limestone, has an ultimate pull str ength of 107,000 N, (24,000 lbs.) Specic Gravity: 1.8 Shelf Life: Four months under ideal storage conditions Packaging: Pail of gr out and cup(s) of har dener Kit Size: 3.5 L, (0.78 Imp. Hole Pr eparation The holes should be drilled with r otary per cussion type equipment such that the hole side walls ar e not smooth. The drill hole must be clean and fr ee fr om debris, oil and gr ease. The hole should be dry , but a good bond can be obtained in wet or underwater holes if suf fcient sidewall deformities exist. 2. Mixing Instructions Note the pot life-temperatur e r elation and pr oceed by suspending all solids in the gr out followed by adding the cup(s) of har dener to the mixing pail of gr out and stirring the mixtur e as rapidly as feasible until no str eaking of the har dener is observed in the gr out-har dener mixtur e. The pr oper ratio is obtained when all of the har dener is added to the gr out. UNDER NO CIRCUMST ANCES should any for eign substance be added to the gr out-har dener mixtur e. 3. Installation Pour the gr out-har dener mixtur e into the drill hole to a level about 2 /3 full. Insert the dowel or anchor bolt and work it back and forth to avoid air entrapment. Assume the fnal position of the dowel or anchor bolt, top up the hole with liquid gr out and allow the gr out to gel in that position. The gr out will gel in one and one-half times its pot life at the given temperatur e. W orking loads can be applied in six times the pot life. 4. Cleaning Cleaning of tools, spills or runs is best accomplished befor e the gr out has har dened by wiping of f excess and further cleaning the surfaces with acetone (pr opanone), or another type of high grade mineral spirit, making certain that the surface is compatible with the spirit used. Remove empty containers fr om the job site and dispose of accor ding to ar ea r egulations. 5. Caution This pr oduct is intended for industrial use only . A void contact with eyes and pr olonged contact with skin. Use pr otective measur es. In case of eye contact, fush with water for at least 15 minutes. If irritation develops, contact a physician. The kit contains: benzoyl per oxide, polyester r esin, styr ene and inert fllers. If taken inter nally , consult a physician immediately . 6.
