If thin gr out is kept in the hole the water will bleed away fr om the gr out thus failing to fully encapsulate the bolt. The normal post-gr outing steps ar e: • Pr epar e gr out with pr oper amounts of water and cement. • Pump some gr out to the end of the hose, check consistency and stop pumping. [Install a ball valve in the hose near the Chicago ftting to contr ol gr out fow .] • Attach Chicago ftting to DCP bolt gr outing adapter . • Connect the DCP bolt gr outing adapter onto the bayonet mount of the gr outing bell, r otating to the right and tightening with the handle on the adapter . • Open ball valve and r estart pumping at a slow to medium rate until gr out appears ar ound the plate. • Stop pumping and disconnect the adaptor . Important : if gr out drains fr om the nut and/or the plate, the bolt must be gr outed again with a thicker gr out mix. • Move to a new bolt r epeat above steps. • Clean the gr out adaptor thor oughly after use. • W arning : when gr outing, the operator should wear the pr escribed pr otective equipment in addition to gloves and safety glassed.
