well as the Borden Project in Chap leau Drilling at Hoyle Pond focused on resource conversion and potential resource addition from known struc tures Drilling continued throughout the fourth quarter of 2016 on the S1 vein from 1680m level The results and vein geometrics were as expected coincident with shears at the contact between metasedi ments and ultramafc volcanic rocks Drilling on the S veins will continue in 2017 as part of the resource con version process At Owl Creek a surface drilling pro gram to test the depth exten sion of mineralization began in late August and continued through to the end of December with 7 holes completed during the fourth quarter of 2016 Owl Creek is hosted in a geological setting similar to the adjacen t Hoyle Mine which is currently mined and explored over much deeper eleva tions Compilation and interpretation of drill results is underway and will be integrated with information from historic development and pit benches On the basis of this interpreti ve work additional followup holes will be pro posed in early 2017 and if approved will be drilled with oriented core to constrain the structural model better Four surface holes were completed on the Coniaurum tar get during the fourth quarter of 2016 Drilling was oriented to test the folded stratigraphy north of the main Hollinger Coni aurum trend The folding synform antiform pair was interpreted in the 1950s but never drilled due to the ad jacent tailings dam New drilling was mainly oriented to test the fold con tacts rather than the dominant trend of the old Hollinger Coniaurum mines Only a few assays have been received which returned no signifcant results Any followup drilling will depend on interpretation of all data layers includ ing the receipt of all assay results Borden was bought by Goldcorp for 526 million in 2015 Production is expected in 2019 and ore will be trucked to T immins for processing in the Dome mill In the fourth quarter of 2016 drilling resumed at Borden testing exten sions to known mineralization after a drillin g hiatu s since May as part of an agreement with local cottagers to minimize noise during the summer cottage period Drilling from May to October was limited to the Borden North tar get located away from the lake The goal of the Borden W est program was to test the westward continuation of the zone past the west shore of the lake Drilling confrmed the continu ation of the deposit stratigraphy past the west shore with the presence of the host garnetbiotite felsic gneiss unit intersected in most holes Drilling on the Borden deposit high grade zone trend was completed from the northeastern shoreline of Borden Lake to test the depth exte nsion of higher grade mineralization across postore faults which seem to disrupt the consistent plunge of the orebody No signifcant results were received from the Borden North program com pleted in 2016 Results from this drill ing will be assessed to determ ine what followup is warranted in 2017 The ice drilling program originally planned to begin during the winter was cancelled due to poor ice devel opment and to allow for reinterpreta tion and modeling to improve defni tion of mineralization controls and deposit geometry Goldcorp controls 1000km2 over the Borden Lake Belt a belt with no his torical gold mining and not previously the focus for gold exploration compa nies Due to the belt
